Clarke Field at Princeton University

Princeton, New Jersey

Princeton University is in the process of constructing the new, 500-acre Meadows Neighborhood in West Windsor, NJ, which will facilitate the institution’s strategic growth. The new campus incorporates a range of athletic facilities, including a racquet and fitness center, softball, rugby, and intramural fields. The University is also relocating their baseball facilities to the Meadows Neighborhood and creating a new state-of-the-art ballpark that will enhance the student-athlete experience.

Mills + Schnoering Architects (M+Sa) is serving as the Associate Architect to Pendulum, a Kansas City, MO design firm, in the development of the new baseball stadium. M+Sa is providing essential support in the form of local representation, code research, design documentation, and construction administration. Drawing from extensive experience with Princeton University projects such as the Campus Master Plan, Morrison Hall, and Nassau Hall, M+Sa ensures the ballpark aligns with the University’s design standards and sustainability goals.

The firm is working collaboratively with Pendulum throughout all phases of the project, contributing to consultant coordination, documentation, and detailing in partnership with Pendulum’s design leads. Their involvement helps ground the project in local expertise and facilitates seamless coordination between the University and the design team. The new ballpark will serve as a vibrant venue for varsity competition, prioritizing functionality, student well-being, and a high-quality visitor experience, while aligning with the Department of Athletics Strategic Plan.
